    LESLIEVILLE PERMANENT PART TIME SALES ASSOCIATE

    We are an independent woman-owned card and gift shop with locations in both Roncesvalles and Leslieville and we are looking for someone to join our Leslieville team!

     PART TIME SALES ASSOCIATE - 1140 Queen St E

    Starting Wage $18.25/hr

    • This is primarily a part time weekend position. Approximately 12-13 hours. Training will happen mid-week so schedule flexibility is needed for training (unfortunately high school schedules don't work well with our needs unless you have at least a couple full open weekdays). We do need some flexibility to work more than weekends when staff are sick or on holiday. 

    Qualifications:

    • Has some retail or customer service experience
    • Enjoys interacting with people and feels comfortable in a social environment
    • Flexibility is preferred to cover vacation time/sick days etc. Please also let us know if there is an option to cover at Roncesvalles if needed.
    • Is self-motivated and takes initiative helping to improve our shop and our customers' experiences
    • Dependable and reliable
    • Strong attention to detail and an ability to think critically when working solo
    • Quick to learn and comfortable in the higher paced seasons
    • Has a creative side and an affection for smaller local brands
    • Has an understanding of using a POS system -- we use Lightspeed; a cloud based point of sale
    • Familiarity with Shopify is appreciated but not required

    Responsibilities:

    • Customer Service is our #1 expectation from staff. Greeting and guiding customers; engaging authentically while sharing brand stories, providing a comfortable and welcoming space for them. Building on customer relationships through connection and brand knowledge.

    • Learning brand stories and product knowledge 

    • Receiving merchandise, pricing and organizing back stock

    • Re-merchandising and creating displays

    • Daily cleaning and upkeep of the shop

    • Inventory management

    • Opening and closing duties; keyholder

    • Packing up and fulfilling online orders

    • Some assistance with our social media needs including instagram stories, reels and tiktok
    • Other duties as required to meet the needs of the business 

    Working Conditions:

    • Ability to handle standing, bending, lifting, reaching on a regular basis.

    • Ability to lift 50 pounds.

    • Ability to work alone and sometimes after dark.

    • Ability to handle stress and conflict from time to time.

    • We are not a scent free space

    • Our bathrooms and stock rooms are in the basement down a set of stairs
