Now that Valentine’s is over, I’m getting really excited about all the new product coming in for Spring! I decided to skip the big gift shows and try to find more from smaller companies. I’ve still got some stuff from the bigger companies coming in (nothing compares to Fred, Kikkerland and BlueQ) but as always I try to fill the holes with more unique, less mass produced items first!
Found an awesome company from Quebec that makes beautiful blankets, bibs and burp cloths all made with organic, super cute fabrics. Perfect baby shower gifts!

Who knew it would be such a challenge finding the perfect candle companies for the shop. It took awhile, but I’m happy with these two new additions to Scout.
Sydney Hale Co. is a company based out of Virginia. Each soy candle is hand poured, with a double (cotton) wick perfect for an even 50 hours of burning. Lovely subtle scents and simple packaging make for a perfect house warming gift. As an added bonus, Sydney Hale Co. donates 10% of their profits to an animal rescue foundation.

Voluspa is my other new candle company! Made from a coconut wax blend they are even cleaner burning than soy. They come in a travel tin or a larger 3 wick size burning for 25 or 60 hrs and they smell HEAVENLY!

Local designer Sparrow Ave. has come out with a bunch of new drawings for 2012. You may have seen her moose, bear and whale pillows in the shop
Pictured is one of her tea towels with a new owl drawing. She’s also doing baby blankets and bibs!

Brooklyn Rehab makes fantastic unique housewares and jewellery. Pictured below are her super awesome S&P shakers and some of her handmade necklaces. A welcome addition to the shop

Another new company I’ve sourced out is Branch Handmade from California. Pillowcases, tea towels and scarves all adorned with lovely screen printed photos of ships, horses, owls, bikes and more! Good for the ladies and the gents!

People have let it be known they are really happy with my selection of cards in the shop! I really appreciate the feedback and have quite honestly become border line obsessed researching new potential card lines to bring in. Pretty happy with these guys, Sycamore Press from Utah.
Henderson Dry Goods was responsible for the really sweet laser cut teepee and totem ornaments I had in here over Christmas. Her main art is jewellery, laser cut from a walnut veneer with a 14k gold fill, her pieces are stunning.

Nicole Tarasick is designer from Toronto that I found at the One of a Kind show in November. She makes lovely Canadiana housewares that don’t cross into kitschy territory. Each graphic is also available on a tote. So far the YYZ design is the favourite
And last but not least, I just got in a new line of jewellery! Toodles by toodlebunny in Vancouver. She makes lovely necklaces, rings and earrings that have that vintage charm to them. All priced very reasonable too, everything is in the $25-$36 range!

Always getting new stuff in the shop, keep checking back!
