New in November!

Posted on

I’ve been busy carefully re-merchandising trying to make everything fit for the upcoming holiday season!  Adding tables, shelves and a new card spinner.  It’s starting to feel a little bit like Christmas in here!

Here are some new items in the shop, and don’t forget I have a little online shop on Shopcaster for those of you that can’t make it out.  You can always email me if something is on the blog that isn’t on my shopcaster page and I can post it for you to make a purchase. Easy peasy.

New coaster sets from Izola in the shop! Sets of 6 including “Drinking Games”, “Drunken Sailor” & “Happy Hour”

Mariel from Isak & Inger just dropped off a whole load of new bags! I love this smaller Montrose purse available in wool and waxed canvas. Check out this super cute blog Boots & Pine that did a great little feature on Mariel and her adorable, lovely home in Little Portugal. (Psst. She also dropped off more of her mittens!!)

1Canoe2 Letterpress makes gorgeous cards and gift items.  This recipe binder makes a beautiful gift.  The binder is 10″x7″ and contains 8 letterpressed divider tabs, 40 blank 5.5×8.5 inch cards are also included.

They also make this lovely handmade wooden recipe box. Set of 42 hand letterpressed recipe cards in 6 colors (7 of each), 7 Divider Tabs are cut by hand, and have the following words: entrees, appetizers, soups and salads, treats, bread, side dishes, beverages. Dimensions:
Box: 6.75L x 4H x 3.5 Cards: 4×6 Dividers: 4 3/4 inches high by 1-2 inches wide

I got a shipment of Toodlebunny last month and never had a chance to post.  Lots of gorgeous bracelets in the shop now, many of them one of a kind made from vintage pieces & brass.  Bracelets pictured above are brass beads w/ceramic, crystal or pyrite.  Adjustable and perfect for layering!

Another new laptop sleeve! Love anything computer related with a typewriter on it. Fits a 13″ laptop

I just received a shipment from Henderson Dry Goods! Gorgeous new coaster sets made from Walnut and Maple veneers layered together to form a strong plywood.  Finished w/ several coats of polyurethane to resist moisture.

Each coaster is different in the set of four. Two sets to choose from.

And the ornaments are back! You may remember them from last year, this year she’s made Canoes, Snowshoes & Toboggans.  All handmade in Vancouver, BC

Avril Loreti has come out with lots of new amazing designs for her gorgeous linen/cotton tea towels.  The Santa Fe print  is a Navaho inspired geometric print in soft pastel hues.

I’ve also got her new 2013 Calendar tea towel in the shop!

Both tea towels are 55% Linen – 45% Cotton
16″ x 22″

On top of the Avril Loreti calendar tea towel I have lots of other great 2013 Calendars in the shop.  Rifle Paper has a couple of beautiful designs to choose from.  This Cities style (on the left) has gorgeous prints perfect for framing once the month is up!

Old School Stationers 2013 Letterpress calendar is also in the shop! I bought one last year and get excited for each month to pass just to see the next gorgeous new image .

My Christmas cards (and Hanukkah too!) are all out! There are lots of single and boxed cards to choose from.  And I must say, I have a pretty stellar selection this year :)

See you soon!

Dear ol’ Dad

Posted on

It’s time to celebrate Dad! Well, almost time.  Father’s Day is Sunday June 17th.  Here are some great gift ideas to get you thinking  about dear ol’ Dad’s special day!

The number one coveted item by most men that come into the shop. Is he a Montreal fan or a Toronto fan? Every man needs his own special pillow to cuddle up with. Handmade in Toronto by Avril Loreti, and yes folks, those are the only two teams available :)

Music loving Dad’s will appreciate having a place to keep their precious concert tickets they’ve been collecting over the years.  Throw in a set of upcycled record coasters and a music box and you’re set!

Handmade in Vancouver by Henderson Dry Goods, these cuff links are made from solid walnut and acrylic mirror. An item to be loved and passed on for generations.

Canvas and vinyl wallets are the perfect man-cessory (I am copyrighting that word). Bikes, bears, as well as typewriters and foxes available. Handmade in San Francisco.

Of course, I’m still pushing flasks on everyone and anyone.  They really are a perfect little gift.  Take it to the golf course, take it to the baseball game, take it to the beach!

Been trying to get Dad to shave that awful moustache he’s been sporting since the 70′s?  Embrace the ‘stache and show your support with these hilarious moustache inspired gifts!

Speaking of getting Dad to shave..all natural shaving products for Men!  Made in Calgary available in a ready to give gift pack or individually.

Beer! Dad’s love beer! A wall mount bottle opener and this book showcasing bottles and cans from around the world and over the years wouldn’t be complete without a 6 pack of Dad’s favourite brew.

Don’t we all love anything CBC related? I’ve decided we do.  This shoulder bag is the perfect man bag. (Don’t worry ladies it’s perfect for you too! Let’s call it unisex shall we).  The journal is hand bound using an upcycled Radio Canada record, made by Toronto’s Papermuse Designs.  Scout ♥’s CBC.

Last but not least.. Thanks Dad for bringing home the bacon.  Merit Badge by Toronto’s Lee Maszaros

And of course, an amazingly unique selection of cards, perfect for each and every kind of Dad!

Just like Mom, the Dad post is not complete without a picture from the past of me and my Dad!

Thank you Dad for being so supportive of me and my vision.  Seeing you get excited about my dream helped motivate me and give me the confidence to see that this was an attainable goal, and I needed that. I’m so grateful for your support and your faith in me.  Love you Dad!

Now that’s a ‘stache! (Dad has since gone ‘stacheless..some tears were shed but it was nice to see the face hiding underneath!)

See you soon!

I heart mom, last minute!
