Operation: fruit crates!

Posted on

I’d decided I wanted to create the rustic shelving look using fruit crates.  They still have that antique look, without the antique price tag.  It’s been slim pickings though as the rustic look has been really popular and when I have found people selling them, they aren’t cheap.  I was told it was time to make a trip to Hamilton!

This place was pretty much giving these away they were so cheap!  I know they look a little rough around the edges, we definitely took the best of the lot!  You’ll have to wait until I’m open to see how it turns out…

Also decided since we were in Hamilton to go on a little scenic adventure.  Had no idea there was so many conservation areas around there.  Went to Dundas to see the Spencer Gorge and Webster Falls.  So pretty!

A little help from the fam..

I’ve been wanting to furnish my shop with a lot of antique looking furniture but Toronto antique prices are ridiculous!  Not having a car makes it difficult to jump on those craigslist deals before they’re swiped up by someone else.  Luckily my brother has a car and has been scouring craigslist for sweet deals.  He found this antique dumbwaiter today that happened to be on my mom’s way home from work!  Love the family support! Love my new display shelf!!

Now what will I fill it with!?
