This weekend it’s December! Even if you aren’t ready to think about gifts (which let’s be honest, you should be unless you’re one of those last minute do it all on Christmas eve shoppers) it’s time to think about cards! I have a STELLAR selection of cards this year. Am I allowed to say that? It’s thanks to all the amazing designers I get to bring into the shop so I think I am :) Six out of the thirteen featured are Canadian companies too! YAY!

Papillon Press is from Sudbury On.  I love this gorgeous letterpress birch card Printed on eco-friendly bamboo paper.  It’s blank on the inside and is available both boxed as a set of 6, or in singles.

Banquet Workshop is a newer company in the shop for me.  From Vancouver, they make the gorgeous prints I have up on my walls.  Love the rudolph polar bear card.  Offset printed on recycled paper in Canada. Measures 5.5 x 4.25 inches. Available as singles.

Night Owl Paper Goods has adorable critter Christmas cards.  Owls (of course), sloths, monkeys and this little guy! Available as singles, lots of there other styles with this great wood grain background are available boxed.

Flakes Paperie from Cambridge, ON has great, unique hand screen printed cards.  Who loves bikes?! Available in singles only.

Oddball Press from Cleveland, Ohio offers a selection of less conservative, humourous cards for the grinches in your life. Available in singles only.

RedCap cards all have amazing illustrations. Like this one, high fives! Available in singles only.

Kate & Birdie cards are made in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Hand-drawn and printed on thick 100lb recycled paper using vegetable-based inks.  Cards measure 4.25 x 5.5 inches and are blank inside. Available in a box of 8.

Egg Press cards are made in Portland, Oregon. Blank inside available as singles only. (Also lots of other awesome animals in their series!)

I’ve brought Wendy Tancock in over the holidays! I’ve already sold out of a bunch of her Toronto focused Christmas cards.  They are all wonderful, this one with the Mason Jar is especially nice. Available as singles only. Made in Toronto!

I have a lot of fans of Rifle Paper Co. coming into the shop. You have to see this card in person to see how gorgeous it is. Printed full colour with gold foil. Available as a single card or boxed set of 8.

I know a lot of people that this card would be appropriate for. For the shameless present lover (if you can’t read the smaller print click to see it enlarged)! Available as singles by Sycamore Street Press in Utah!

Regional Assembly of Text has a whole new slew of their awesome button cards for the holiday season.  This is my new favourite.  Available in singles only.

Drum Roll please. I’ve already had to re-order this card because of it’s obvious (non-censored) slothy, awesomeness! Laura George , you’re amazing! Made in Chicago.

There you have it! Just a small taste of cards Scout has to offer this year.  They go quick so if you see one you like, come get it before it’s gone!

Gift Guide to come!!

Here are some new items in the shop, and don’t forget I have a little online shop on Shopcaster for those of you that can’t make it out.  You can always email me if something is on the blog that isn’t on my shopcaster page and I can post it for you to make a purchase. Easy peasy.

Mariel from Isak & Inger just dropped off a whole load of new bags! I love this smaller Montrose purse available in wool and waxed canvas. Baby Elephant Designs!

I met Toronto illustrator Joanne, behind Baby Elephant Designs, at the One of a Kind show in November.  I couldn’t resist purchasing her adorable illustrated hard book “sometimes” for my  nephew.   She was hesitant about wholesale at the time, but lucky me, she has decided to try it out! She dropped off my order yesterday, and it’s adorable.

Such a sweet book, with a positive message for the little ones!

Adorable magnet sets illustrated with her cute little critters and homes inspired by houses in Toronto!

And greeting cards!

I tried to resist using the word “adorable” too many times….  Welcome into the shop babyelephant designs!!

Yellow Owl Workshop

I just posted yesterday about my obsession with letterpress cards, and today I got in a super awesome shipment from Yellow Owl Workshop!  More cards, printed this time, and beautiful handmade stamp sets.  All made in the lovely city of San Francisco, California!

Lovely gifts to give, or you can make your own cards!

All their cards are printed in San Francisco with veggie-based ink on 100% Recycled paper♥

This is just a little shout out  to one of the coolest places in San Francisco my friends and I stumbled across on our road trip a few years ago.  826 Valencia St. is honestly a must see if you ever find yourself that way.  It’s actually a place for writing workshops but the front is a devoted pirate store!! It’s amazing.. go see for yourself :)   (love you L&J..arrrr)

Letterpress Cards!

I actually wasn’t planning on carrying a lot of cards when I first decided I wanted to open up a gift shop.  As soon as I started looking into card companies though, the can of worms had been opened!  There are sooo many great card companies out there and I’m a sucker for a beautiful letterpress card.

Just got an order from Egg Press in today.  They’re based in Portland, Oregon (which as I’ve mentioned, I’m also a sucker for).

Beautiful, adorable and sometimes funny letterpress cards!

I also found this great (thanks to Kid Icarus!!) Canadian card company, Papillon Press based in Sudbury, Ontario.  They do some great Illustrated series’ also in letterpress :) The Whippersnapper, Rapscallion, Skullduggery and Lollygagger set is brilliant,  love it!

I’ve got so many more cards on the way, I’m going to have to put another card rack up next week!

Regional Assembly of Text!

When I was in Vancouver a couple years ago my friend said I MUST go check out Regional Assembly of Text on Main St.   I was on a search for new and exciting card lines to bring into my imaginary shop that didn’t yet exist, and going into their adorable little shop inspired me.  Original, beautiful, adorable and innovative cards adorned the shops walls, YAY!  I’ve already sold out of a few styles as they really are one of the best Canadian card companies I’ve sourced out.

Love the To Do line from them. Also comes in an adorable Wedding Card.

They aren’t limited to cards either! They also do some really cute little button packs, including this one for the proud Canadian!

Oh Regional Assembly of Text, you are loved by all!!

The Beautiful Project

I’ve been told there are some shipments on the way, and I thought jewelery from Spruce DesignCo. would be first, but I was wrong.  I got a cute little package of sweet handmade cards from The Beautiful Project in Vancouver today.  These aren’t currently sold anywhere else in Toronto!  Love ‘em!
