It’s officially December, which means it’s time to get into holiday gear! We’ve been seriously loading up the shop with as many adorable, handmade, unique things as we possibly could. We’re pretty excited with our selection this year, feeling a little more prepared as we go into our third holiday season on Roncesvalles.  There’s something for everyone on your list!

photo 5(1)Beridan Naturals is a wonderful apothecary line we just brought into the shop. Handmade in small batches in Maryland there’s nothing artificial about these. Bath salts, soaks, oils and facial masks; any of which would make a lovely gift.

Rifle Paper Co. lovers, I know you’ve been patiently waiting for these! So happy to say the recipe tins have finally made it into the shop! Complete with a stack of recipe cards and organizers these arrived just in the nick of time for the holidays.

I’ve brought in some women’s tees this time around from FluffyCo in San Francisco! Both prints are also available on canvas bags. New accessories as well including leather card holders!

oct3Fall Imm Living is here! These adorable little ring holders come in a choice of 4 different woodland animals. New stacking mugs and other wonderful and quirky home wares are in the shop too!

oct9New Canadian Jewellery line Sasha Eillenna is in the shop! Handmade in Whistler, BC we have an awesome collection of her bronze bracelets, rings and necklaces.

photo 1(1)Hand knit booties from Un Petit Mouton in Montreal, QC are available in 3-6 and 6-12 months and are oh so adorable!

photo 4Violet & Lark is a small batch company based out of Brooklyn, NY. Her soy candles burn for 5o hours and are available in a lovely selection of scents. Bath salts are handmade and bottled in a recycled glass apothecary jar topped with a cork stopper. Epsom Salt, also known as, magnesium sulfate is known for its exceptional purity and therapeutic value. It is perfect for soothing sore muscles, relaxing soaks, and calming foot baths. We are currently the only Toronto retailer of Violet & Lark!

oct5New bags from Isak & Inger are here. The designer has actually collaborated with the designer of Augustine Leather Goods and they’re now working under the name eleven thirty shop. Check out their shop that just opened on College Street!

photo 3(2)Another new to Toronto line is L’aromatica from San Francisco, CA. We’ve been searching for a wonderful natural handcrafted perfume for the shop and we’ve finally found it! L‘aromatica offers fragrances for men and women made in small batches using exquisite botanical ingredients.  They do not use fragrance oils, fillers, preservatives or phthalates or test any of their products on animals.

New Leah Duncan tea towels and pillow covers are here. As usual her prints are wonderful to look at and make a lovely addition to any home. Handmade in Brooklyn, NY.

oct4Jack & Marjorie is a company based out of Hamilton, ON. I was bugging Meghan, the designer, far before my store ever existed and was super excited when I got the email saying she was ready to take on another shop. I must admit, most of her line has flown out of here already but I’ve still got a couple of goodies, like this guy made from waxed cotton canvas. Lots of pockets inside, an adjustable strap and lined with a hemp/canvas. These bags are super well made. We’ll be getting more in later this season!

photo 3Wild Rose herbs based out of Grants Pass, Oregon makes wonderful all natural, vegan products for everyone! Her Wild Man line is full of wonderful beard oils, creams, body washes and more.

She also makes lovely bath soaks and salts perfect for anyone! We’re so happy to be the first Toronto retailer to have brought her line in! We’re sure you’ll be happy too.

oct11Last but most definitely not least. I am excited to have the beautiful work of Sarah Burwash in the shop, an illustrator from Halifax, NS. I often find myself just staring into her prints and postcards. Truly lovely and a welcome addition to the shop.

We’ll be getting our Christmas goodies out on the floor in the next coming week, so stay tuned for all that is holiday!

sept9Handmade ceramics from Elizabeth Benotti in Brooklyn, NY are stunning. She works with slipcasting, handbuilding and wheelthrowing techniques.  Her functional wares are also sculptural pieces meant to become heirloom objects that tell a story.

Cokluch outwear is back! Handmade leather hats and mittens are all lined with fleece and created using bits of recycled leather. Made in Montreal.

Not sure how everyone else feels, but that summer flew by! There’s something about fall though, a feeling of nostalgia in the air.  I’m ready to embrace it.

Here’s a look at some new arrivals so far this month!

sept3New card line alert! Small Adventure is indeed a small company. Running out of L.A. her paper goods are all inspired by the great outdoors. Here’s a sampling of her eco systems card set.

sept2New earrings from Hand & Machine are also based out of California. Laser cut, hand painted geometric wood studs come in a variety of shapes and colours. And they’re all between $16-$22!

sept4We’re now carrying onesies with adorable screen printed woodland animals from Toronto’s Note To Soul. Available in 3-6, 6-12 and 12-18 months.

sept1Cards from Carococo in Quebec have been a hit. The beautiful giclee cards are a gift in themselves, perfect to be hung. I’ve brought some of her 8×10 prints in this month as well (pictured above)!

Fall Cokluch is here (including the leather hats & mittens everyone loves)! New cowls are lined with fleece and a perfect accessory to a leather jacket or even a parka as the weather cools. Other designs in the shop.

august5Patch NYC and Soap & Paper Factory have collaborated to come up with this wonderful line of soy candles. Six different 3 oz candles with a 20 hour burn time.

august9Equis Accessories is from Montreal. She uses lots of hardware pieces and pyrite creating beautiful necklaces, rings and earrings.

I’ve had a lot of people asking me to bring in this lovely Sea Salt soap, and it’s here! This mineral-rich sea salt soap is extra softening suitable for bath or shaving.

My latest issue of Pure Green Magazine is to thank for my recent discovery of Stone + Cloth. Their bags are handmade in California and you can feel good about your purchase as Stone + Cloth helps provide scholarships to deserving students in Tanzania, Africa. These bags arrived just in time for back to school shopping!

august8I’ve been carrying So Young Inc. since I opened and I am now happy to say I am stocking her Charlie diaper bag! This is THE perfect diaper bag. Comes with a laminated change mat, lots of compartments, straps that can be used as a backpack or to attach to stroller, easy to clean lining and an insulated side pocket for bottles.  Plus it’s designed by a Roncesvalles mom which makes it even better!

photo(18)Soap and Paper Factory has a new line of soaps and hand creams.  They smell amazing, and their packaging makes it that much more appealing.  Soap & Paper doesn’t use any chemicals in their products.  Handmade in NY.

photo(24)Fall Frug is here!! Frug is made up of two lines, La Russe & La Pistole. This is a small taste of La Russe.  We’ve got lots of their chunkier, vintage inspired pieces in the shop too!

A new style of serving bowls from Stinson Studios are also here! Available in two different sizes. A more finished alternative to the bowls I’ve had in the past.








The salad servers are a great compliment to the serving bowls. Available in a smoother, finished look or with a rougher more raw edge.

Swaine Street Woodworking Trunk Show

This Thursday May 30th from 6pm-9pm is the first ever Swaine Street Woodworking Trunk Show & Sale!!

Jana from SSW is driving to Toronto from Halifax with a car full of her gorgeous handmade cutting boards and butcher blocks.  She’s going to have her laser set up ready to add any names, initials or dates to boards for free! Custom designs are also welcome for $35 plus the price of the board.  Everything will be discounted and there will be a gift bag to raffle off as well!

We’re really looking forward to this event, which couldn’t have come at a better time with wedding season just around the corner!
